Carolyn grew up in the West of England. The Cornish coast provides inspiration for her work, especially the rock formations and pebbles on the beaches.
Carolyn left Devon to study textiles at Chelsea School of Art and worked as a designer in London before moving with her husband and family to live in St Albans. While training and working as an occupational therapist she developed her interest in ceramics, attending courses at the Universtiy of Hertfordshire. Carolyn continues to take part in these courses, increasing her skills in producing unique slip cast porcelain bowls, decorated by hand with oxides and glazes.
