“My family moved to Cornwall in the 70’s when I was 11. My parents are both artists and they were lured by the rich tradition of art along with the colony of artists that have come to make St Ives and Newlyn a hotbed of creativity as well as their home.
I live in Mousehole, in Cornwall, just a stones throw away from the sea and happily my main subject is the boats and harbour. The water and reflections are ever changing and fascinating to paint. The light next to the sea is exceptional.
Porthcurno has become a magnet for beachgoers and the view across to the Logan Rock is iconic. Revisiting this beach means I can find choice viewpoints and become familiar with the light and tides.
I love swimming in the sea so always end my painting excursion with a swim. This truly connects me to this powerful element: the sea.”
