“Growing up in a naval family we were always on the move. The sea was my constant, my place where I felt most at home. I love the sea in all its moods and it is both my happy place and my place I go to reflect when life throws curve balls at me.
I am never happier than when sitting on a rock on the beach watching the waves break. Porthmeor Beach in St Ives is where I love to be. I want to capture that moment in a painting but also to capture a sense of the ever changing nature of the scene. I am fascinated by the marks and trails left on the wet sand by the ebbing tide.
I recently signed up to fundraise for UK based marine conservation charity Sea-Changers and love that my art can make a difference to our marine environment.”
